Do you have more than one internet browser installed on your computer? If you do you might want to pick the one you use the most and remove all the others. You don’t have to leave internet explorer installed if you do not want to. Firefox has an IE plug-in that will allow you to download and install all your Windows updates. Having more than one browser, especially if you do not use them, just takes up space on your harddrive. You can get by with one or two but you do not need more than two installed on your computer.
After you un-install the internet browsers you do not use and any other software program that you find is installed and you no longer need your hard drive will need to be defragmented. The Disk Defragmentation utility should be run monthly as a matter of routine maintenance. But anytime you remove software or large program files you should run it as well. Defragmenting the hard drive will organize your files and programs to a more compact area of your hard drive. This makes it easier for these files to be accessed and will help improve the overall performance of your computer.
You can remove large files to an external backup device or onto a DVD to free up even more space on your computer.
These are simple steps that can help make your computer faster and performing better.
