The computer is a complex and a delicate apparatus. It is made up of so many electronic parts and each part plays a role in running it. The computer is our train to cyberspace. Today’s era, the cyber world, we depend on the internet to function, to communicate and deliver. The smoothness of the day’s work depends on how smooth and fast we trek the net and the computer plays a big role for this.

A fast computer can be obtain by the proper maintenance not only of its software but most importantly the hardware. Just like the human body, wherein the computer hardware are the organs, proper maintenance must be observe. When one organ fails, the other organs are affected until the whole body shuts down and will be disabled. Here are some tips on hardware maintenance.

• Clean every part , remove dust particles using a soft haired brush at least once a month.
• Clean the internal portion of the CPU with vacuum cleaner often to eliminate dust and webs which inhibits the functions of the parts such as the cooling fan.
• Check for signs of melted parts or rusted I.C’s
• Turn off the power supply when the PC is not in use.
• Make sure that the computer is properly ventilated; heat causes lagging of the system.
• Check the major parts and the commonly damaged parts often such as the motherboard, processor and the video card.

Through these basic and simple routines, our personal computers can function well and fast. These routines would save as money and time as these routines slow down the wear and tear of these expensive computer hardware.

The computer system is the mostly used communication system today. A personal computer has become a necessity in the household. We use it in paying our bills online, we use it in doing our jobs, we use it to control everything and we use it as a way of recreation and fun.

The computer is useful if it performs the way that it is expected to. When our PC is lagging, it slows down work, costs us money and increases our work load. There are a lot of factors that slows our personal computers. It can be an electronic cause which involves the different parts of our PC’s as well as the electrical supply for it. Other factors that we should consider is the year age of the computer, the compatibility of the parts we installed to the system, the compatibility of the software we install to the capability of the computer and the way we used it. All of these factors affects the speed of our computers.

There are a number of simple tips so you can make your personal computer run faster. One tip is that you should make sure that your PC has an adequate power supply. The CPU is very voltage positive. The next tip is that at least twice a month, you must brush off the dusts inside the CPU especially those that accumulate in the cooling fans. This leads to the last tip which is ensuring that your PC has the adequate ventilation and cooling system. A hot computer is slow and what’s worst, it can melt some parts inside the CPU that can destroy the computer.

It has been said over and over, to the point that you might be feeling like you are a tent peg that is being driven into the ground. You know what we mean; you have been told repeatedly that doing routine maintenance on your PC will keep it “tuned up” and help to improve the speed it runs at. So, the question that remains is this: are you doing this or simply letting it “go in one ear and out the other” and doing nothing?
If you really think about it your PC is a lot like your car/vehicle. Would you just keep driving and driving it without doing the routine maintenance – Tune-Up, Oil Chance and regular repairs – necessary? If you are like most people, your answer will be of course not, that is just plain silly; not to mention dangerous! Well, your PC is the same, and yet different at the same time! You really do need to remember to do the routine maintenance on it to keep it running at its best.
Doing a routine defrag keeps all the files together where they need to be. It also keeps the directories trimmed down and in order. Using a Registry Cleaner gets rid of ‘excess baggage’ in the registry. Using your other security software finds all malware and spyware and Trojans on the computer. A routine – say weekly – virus scan is a good way to keep your PC virus-free and in the best of health so to speak and running properly.

Has everything talked about thus far – running routine maintenance and keeping a close eye on what you download/install and knowing what you are doing – made sense to you? Have you been looking at this and asking what more there is to think about here? Are you absolutely sure that you are doing everything that you possibly can to keep yourself, your family and your PC safe?

Here are a few questions to think about for a while:
1. What is the worst that can happen if you do not run routine maintenance?
2. How can you make sure that you are doing right by yourself and your computer?
3. What specific maintenance programs do you absolutely need to have to stay safe?
4. Do you know what you are looking for that could be causing you trouble?
5. Is it as easy as simply deleting/uninstalling certain things?

Another thing that you might want to do is limit what you are downloading and installing until you are sure what is/has been causing your problems. No, we are not telling you what you can and/or cannot do with your own PC. It is just sound advice being offered here.
You might also want to seriously look through everything that you have on your PC and consider burning/copying files onto disc that you do not use that often and then delete them off the hard drive to free up space. Make sure that you virus and security scan absolutely everything installed on your PC to make sure it is safe!

One of the things that really does frustrate many people is looking for maintenance software that fits their needs. Do you know that there is a free version of almost every type of maintenance program in existence? Do you know where to look online for these programs? This is often more of a problem than whatever is slowing your computer down to begin with. Do you have good maintenance software to begin with? There are some anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware and security programs that are simply better (or more adaptable) than other are.

This does not mean that some are inferior to others. All it means is that they are different in how they operate. You might find that Avast! Free anti-virus works far better on your computer than McAfee or AVG or anything else does. Does this mean that that Avast! Is far superior to any other anti-virus? Nope, it does not mean that at all; just that it works better for you personally. Another person may be perfectly happy with something else and will happily recommend that to others they know.

The frustration often comes from seeing so many different types of maintenance software and not really knowing which would be the best for you. You might want to take a look at user/consumer reviews than. Also ask people you know to see what types of maintenance software they have and the names of the programs. Sometimes it is simply a case of trial and error to find what works best for you.

Improving your PC speed is more often than not simply a matter of keeping up with the routine maintenance on it. This means running a virus and boot-time scan at least once a week. It also means running your other maintenance programs every day/every other day to maintain your PC’s speed and integrity. You may be saying that you do not have the time to sit and wait for hours and not be able to do anything else while that virus and boot-time scan runs. You are going to need to make the time in order to keep your computer safe and operating well.

Sometimes it is the simple act of keeping the Recycle Bin cleared and discarding all of the temporary files that are on your hard drive that will improve the speed of your PC. Clearing all of the un-necessary junk files off the hard drive also improves the computer’s speed a good bit. More often than not it is the simple act of keeping up with the routine maintenance that keeps your PC’s speed up to par and performing as it did when brand new.

The most difficult time that most of us have these days, when everything is speeding up and there never seems to be enough time, is making the time necessary to maintain our PC. It does not matter whether your PC is a desktop, a laptop, a netbook or a tablet PC. They all are vulnerable and need routine maintenance to run at their best!

We all know that keeping your computer as virus, malware and spyware free as possible is the best idea. Do you realize that this is a full-time job in and of itself these days? There are so blasted many different types and mutations of/on the most commonly used computer viruses that it is not funny any longer! So what can you do to make sure that your computer is as protected as possible? The standard answer is to run your anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware and security software routinely. For some this me3ans doing all of that every single day.

For others it means every other day or perhaps once a week. How often you actually run these programs actually depends upon how much you surf the Internet and how much you happen to be downloading and/or installing. The more you cruise the Internet, the more that you are downloading/installing; the more you seriously need to run maintenance every single day. This is no guarantee however that you are not going to pick-up something you do not want!

What is does mean is that you have a much better chance of catching and eliminating problems before they get too big. The main ones that you really want to look out for and get rid of immediately are the Trojans and the WIN32s. These are BIG TROUBLE no questions asked and no doubt about it! As has been said before, there is almost no way to absolutely guarantee that you are not going to pickup something nasty online.

When you are looking for programs that keep your PC maintained and running at its peak you are going to need to have a few different types of maintenance programs installed. You certainly need to have an Anti-Virus program (this is absolutely essential). You also need to have an Anti-Spyware program installed along with some type of Anti-Malware program. You would also be very wise to have some sort of Security Essentials program installed.

There are many different Anti-Virus programs out there as everyone that is computer savvy knows already. You have McAfee, AVG, Norton, Trend Micro and Avast! Just to name a few of the better known anti-virus programs out there. Each is good in its own way so there really is no use in comparing them. There are a few things that you need to look for when you either buy one or download the free personal/home use version. You need to know that the software will update it “virus database” often so that you are not being left unprotected.

You also want to have some sort of anti-spyware program installed on your PC. Something like Spybot, Webroot, Ad-aware (spyware and adware removal program) and Windows Defender (also fits into the Security Essentials category) help you to make sure that you are as protected as possible from Spyware and Adware. Both of these are dangerous. Malware is also a serious problem that needs to be dealt with. Here are two Anti-Malware programs for your PC to look into: Malwarebytes and Emsisoft Anti-Malware

Are you researching what you can do to make your computer run faster? Isn’t everyone? There are many things you can try that will help how fast your computer both starts up and runs. Some may include upgrading some of your hardware components while others won’t cost you any money at all. If it is your internet experience that is slow there are things you can do to help improve that as well.

If you do not want to invest in hardware upgrades then you need to maintain your computer regularly. If you do this from the time you purchase your new computer you may never experience the slowness that comes with time.

General maintenance like uninstalling all programs that are no longer necessary is the first place to start. When you buy a new computer it may come with many programs pre-installed. Go through the list of programs to see if there are any you just do not want or won’t use and remove them. After you remove any program you should let the disk defragmentation utility re-organize your hard drive.

Running the Disk Cleanup utility is one of the best ways to remove unwanted items from your computers hard drive. You will find this utility in System Tools under Accessories. In System Tools you will also find the Disk Defragmentation utility as well.

Running the Error Check utility will also help improve the performance of your PC by finding and fixing any bad sectors found on your computers hard drive.
