When your files are fragmented, the performance of your computer is badly affected, slowing it down. When disk fragmentation occurs, the hard disk is searched finding files that must be put back again together. There is usually a longer response time to this. To speed up Windows 7, you can use a Disk Defragmenter (sometimes referred to as Defrag). Another utility that can speed up Windows 7 is the Error Checking tool. Bad sectors are developed as you use your computer’s hard drive. These bad sectors also slow down your operating system. So it is also as important to run the Error Checking utility that scans the hard drive to find bad sectors. It also scans for errors on file systems to see if certain folders or files are misplaced. Using your computer daily requires you to run important utilities to help your PC maintain the efficient speed.
